Innovative Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Solutions for Subsea Survey, Science & Security Applications

Cellula Robotics is a developer of innovative AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle) and subsea sensor solutions designed to revolutionize the commercial, scientific and defense sectors alike.

Our long-range underwater robotic platforms can be powered by hydrogen fuel cells or batteries, enabling you to carry out a diverse range of missions with unparalleled efficiency while contributing to a sustainable and greener future.

Cellula Robotics

With a global reach, we have provided our cutting-edge solutions to a range of industry leaders and government agencies, including BAE Systems, the Royal Canadian Navy, and the Schmidt Ocean Institute. We are also a proud member of numerous professional organizations including Ocean Networks Canada, the Association of British Columbia Marine Industries, and Canada’s Ocean Supercluster.

Envoy AUV

Versatile subsea robotic vehicle with configurable payload options

Envoy AUV

The Envoy is a highly versatile AUV that can be powered by batteries or hydrogen fuel cell, and can be equipped with a wide range of payload and sensor options to suit a variety of mission profiles. Capable of covering up to 2000 line kilometres of survey in a single journey, it is quick to deploy, and can be easily transported in a container and mobilized via trailer or vessel LARS.

subsea robotic vehicleApplications for the Envoy AUV include:

  • Mapping and surveying – geophysical and hydrographic surveys, magnetometry, marine archaeology
  • Pipeline, cable and subsea asset inspection and management
  • Deployment of sensor nodes, LBL beacons, smaller AUVs and other payloads
  • ISR and mine countermeasures (MCM)

Porter & Guardian XLAUVs

Extra-large AUVs designed for long-duration commercial & defense applications

Porter & Guardian XL AUVs

Porter and Guardian are extra-large AUV platforms that are capable of remaining underwater for up to 45 days at a time, and can be used for long-duration station-keeping or to cover up to 5000 line kilometres of survey in a single mission.

With a maximum of 5000 litres of internal payload capacity and the ability to fit custom skids, they can be equipped with a wide range of payloads and sensors, and can even be used to deploy and recover smaller AUVs and ROVs or sensor nodes.

Applications for the Porter and Guardian XLAUVs include:

Porter XL AUV

Porter

  • Ultra-long-range surveys with SAS/SSS, SBP, magnetometer, cameras and more
  • Payload deployment & recovery
  • ROV deployment & support
  • Wireless power transfer for subsea assets

Guardian XL AUV

Guardian

  • Anti-submarine warfare
  • Long-duration loitering
  • Deployment of sensor nodes & smaller UUVs
  • Surface ISR via retractable sensor mast

Subsea Warden AUV

Hovering AUV with marine vessel signature measurement capabilities

Subsea Warden hovering AUV platform

Subsea Warden is a hovering AUV platform that can be easily deployed from a support vessel by crane or davit. It can operate individually, or in fleets of three vehicles, allowing simultaneous measurements of vessel magnetic and acoustic signatures from port, starboard and under the keel. This relative positioning allows accurate signature recording and analysis without the need to sail vessels through a fixed range.
Subsea Warden AUV
The versatile AUV can also be equipped with a variety of configurable payload options to suit different marine and subsea tasks, including acoustic and magnetic measurement tools, non-destructive testing tools for hull inspection, manipulators, and more.

Subsea Sentinel Sensor Node

Seabed sensor node for marine mammal detection & target tracking

Our Subsea Sentinels are cableless sensor nodes that can be deployed autonomously in underwater arrays to provide reliable long-term collection and transmission of ocean data in real time. Featuring onboard processing capabilities, they can be used to detect marine mammals and other targets of interest in the water column and track them through the sensor array.

Subsea SentinelSubsea Sentinels can be equipped with passive or active acoustic sensors, echosounders and environmental sensors, as well as long-range acoustic and short-range high-bandwidth optical communications options.

Applications for the Subsea Sentinel include:

  • Marine life observation
  • Enhanced underwater vehicle navigation
  • Acoustic signature & noise management
  • Cabled observatory extension
