High-Tech Autonomous Underwater Gliders, Subsea Buoyancy Modules, and Oceanographic Survey Services

ALSEAMAR contributes to the development of innovative systems for ocean science exploration. We have a wide range of products including autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs). We offer a wide array of services tailored to the ocean science and marine environment sectors, contributing to the knowledge and protection of marine ecosystems.

With a focus on innovation, ALSEAMAR operates autonomous surface and subsea vehicles designed for environmental observation, while also providing maintenance, retrofit, and engineering services for various industries.

SEAEXPLORER Underwater Gliders

alseamar underwater gliders

SEAEXPLORER is an autonomous underwater glider designed to collect vital data from depths of up to 1,250 meters. It operates efficiently for extended periods, ranging from weeks to months, on a single battery charge and without the need for a support vessel. The vehicle glides silently through the water, gathering a range of data.

With its user-centric software suite for real-time monitoring, SEAEXPLORER periodically surfaces to transmit the collected data and its GPS position, offering a cost-effective and efficient solution for underwater data collection.

SEAEXPLORER’s modular design allows it to be adapted to the specific requirements of each study, enabling researchers to configure the glider with different sensors and payloads. This flexibility ensures that it can be optimized for various oceanographic applications, from physical and chemical profiling to biological and ecological monitoring.

SEAEXPLORER SHALLOWSEAEXPLORER 200

Designed for nearshore environments, the SEAEXPLORER 200 glider operates efficiently in shallow waters, offering both stability and reliability. Equipped with advanced sensors, this glider autonomously gathers essential data on chemical and physical phenomena, including marine life.

Fully integrated into the SEAEXPLORER ecosystem, it shares compatibility with other SEAEXPLORER vehicles in terms of payload, wings, propeller, and piloting. It seamlessly connects to GLIMPSE software for data processing and monitoring, providing invaluable insights for coastal research and environmental monitoring.

SEAEXPLORER Use Cases

The SEAEXPLORER underwater gliders are suitable for a wide range of applications, including:

  • Environmental & Marine Assessments: Physical oceanography, metocean monitoring, CO2 cycle monitoring, red tides, and E.coli contamination.
  • Industrial: Wind farm monitoring, ocean current assessments, and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).
  • Governmental Studies: Natural disaster early warning systems, hurricane intensity information, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Offshore Oil & Gas Projects: Acoustic surveillance, oil spill incident detection, and offshore leak monitoring.
  • Rapid Environmental Assessment (REA): Monitoring of oceanographic assets with glider data collection, including CTD measurements, bioluminescence sensor data, light sensor readings, and ADCP-based in-situ ambient noise assessments.
  • Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM): Stealth acoustic barriers for long-range threat detection, onboard anomaly detection, real-time tracking, and autonomous operation for up to three weeks.
