Marine Acoustic Hardware for Maritime Surveillance and Oceanography

GeoSpectrum Technologies is a leading developer of state-of-the-art marine acoustic hardware and systems that support maritime surveillance and exploration within the commercial and defense sectors. Our extensive product portfolio has been developed by experts in underwater acoustic transducer and system design and advanced sonar processing, and has been provided to clients for a range of applications including environmental research, oil and gas, offshore energy, and oceanography.

Towed Arrays

The M508 Hydrus towed digital array provides a lightweight, low-drag and low-power solution for streaming digitized data from acoustic sources as well as non-acoustic sensors such as depth, temperature and attitude, and is ideal for towing from USVs and UUVs.

The system includes acceleration cancelling hydrophones to minimize mechanical noise, and can be configured to offer more than 64 channels and up to 2.5 kHz sampling rate.

Hydrophones

hydrophonesOur wideband omnidirectional hydrophones are designed with integrated low-power and low-noise voltage or current-signaling preamplifiers, and can be configured to suit customer-defined bandwidth and gain requirements.

The product range includes a variety of options for frequencies and maximum depth, and is ideal for applications such as marine mammal detection, subsea construction, and oil and gas well blowout preventer monitoring.

Acoustic Transducers

We offer a number of different acoustic transducer types that support a variety of marine applications. Options include:

  • Benders (Flexural Disk Transducers): Low-frequency transducers that produce moderate power over broadband and high power near resonance, ideal for subsea communication, long range data transmission, and active sonar.
  • C-BASS: Very low frequency (VLF) electrodynamic projectors with resonant frequencies from 25 to 300 Hz, ideal for active sonar acoustic surveillance, acoustic targets, calibration sources, underwater communications and navigation, and more.
  • Communications Transducers: Oil-filled directional mid- to high-frequency transducers for reliable data transmission and reception through the water column.
  • Free Flooded Rings: Broadband transducers with full ocean depth and toroidal beam patterns, underwater communications and acoustic modem applications and available with resonant frequencies from 990 to 4250 Hz.
  • Spherical Transducers: High-frequency transmitter and receiver transducers with omnidirectional response, available with resonant frequencies from 12 to 68 kHz and in sizes from 0.5 to 6″ in diameter.

Vector Sensors

The M20 family of accelerometer-based vector sensors offers accurate and high-sensitivity measurement of particle motion down to very low frequencies in either 2D or 3D.

The sensors are ideal for a wide variety of applications requiring direct measurement of particle motion including environmental monitoring, marine mammal detection, and offshore oil and gas and energy platform monitoring.

Acoustic Calibration Systems

M351 Hydrophone Field CalibratorM351 Hydrophone Field Calibrator

The M351 provides a cost-effective method of testing hydrophones prior to deployment, ensuring accurate data collection and reducing operating costs. The battery-operated system displays the hydrophone sensitivity and/or the calibration chamber sound pressure level (SPL) on a convenient and intuitive interface.

The M351 is designed as standard to calibrate GTI hydrophones, and can be easily customized to support products from other manufacturers.

Portable Acoustic Calibration SystemPortable Acoustic Calibration System

The Portable Acoustic Calibration System (PACS) is a highly portable and easy-to-use testing system for acoustic sound sources. The convenient system offers a variety of test capabilities, and can be deployed from vessels of opportunity or utilized in in-house test tank setups.
