In this WEDA conference presentation, Chief Hydrographer Mike Mutschler explains how NORBIT Subsea’s integrated 360-degree multibeam sonar solution is being used to support near real-time monitoring of shallow water dredging and rock placement operations.
The system combines multibeam sonar with integrated motion sensors and GNSS to provide a frequently updated view of seabed conditions through a simple, tablet-based interface. By showing operators where material has been placed, where work is still required, and where overplacement has occurred, the approach reduces reliance on delayed survey updates and supports more efficient, better-informed day-to-day dredging workflows.
