The NORBIT Integrated Sub-Bottom Profiler (iSBP) is a compact sub-bottom profiler designed as an add-on for WINGHEAD X and WBMS X multibeam echosounder systems. Fully integrated electronics and electronic beam steering of up to ±10° support simultaneous collection of high-resolution bathymetry and sub-surface information, with range resolution reaching 5 cm. The portable system enables marine survey professionals to gather complementary seafloor and sediment data through one integrated workflow.
Bathymetric mapping and sub-bottom profiling data are captured within the same georeferenced framework, simplifying processing and maintaining consistency between survey datasets. By combining both acquisition functions, the iSBP can reduce survey duration and operational complexity for marine geophysical surveys, inshore and nearshore mapping, geotechnical investigations, sediment characterisation, and sub-seafloor analysis.
