NORBIT Subsea has released a new video showcasing NORdredge, a real-time monitoring solution designed to improve efficiency and accuracy during dredging and marine construction operations.
Built on a proven GIS platform, the system provides continuous underwater condition data to operators while enabling remote access for project managers, surveyors, and hydrographers.
A developer of wideband multibeam sonar solutions for marine and subsea applications, NORBIT Subsea provides technologies for hydrographic surveying, subsea monitoring, and marine construction projects. NORdredge integrates with the company’s WINGHEAD X and WBMS X multibeam sonar systems to deliver accurate seabed data for precise dredging and construction activities.
The customizable WINGHEAD X multibeam sonar provides ultra-high-resolution bathymetric data through a modular architecture that supports deployment on USVs, survey vessels, and larger hull-mounted platforms. The WBMS X is a configurable curved-array multibeam sonar system designed for high-resolution bathymetric mapping across a variety of survey requirements. Both systems feature active roll, pitch, and yaw stabilization, allowing them to perform effectively in dynamic operating environments.
Using a web-based interface, NORdredge displays real-time depth and progress information with clear color-coded visualization, enabling operators to compare current seabed conditions against engineering designs throughout a project. The system can be rapidly mobilized and deployed, helping reduce downtime while providing continuous insight into underwater conditions.
By delivering real-time seabed monitoring, NORdredge can help reduce delays associated with traditional survey workflows and support more efficient dredging and material placement operations. Additional capabilities include GIS integration, real-time data generation, support for RTK-enabled positioning, and sound speed refraction corrections, providing users with up-to-date information throughout project execution.
The new video demonstrates how NORdredge supports dredging and marine construction projects through continuous underwater monitoring, helping operators maintain visibility of seabed conditions and project progress in real time.
