SubC Imaging and French imaging specialist Orphie have launched a new integration that merges real-time video enhancement with specialized subsea recording and streaming.
The collaboration establishes seamless compatibility between Orphie’s enhanced IP cameras and the SubC DVR+ Overlay system. This technical alignment is designed specifically for underwater inspection teams operating in challenging environments, providing a unified solution to capture, annotate, and share high-clarity video.
Orphie cameras are primarily utilized in shallow-water diving and ROV inspections where poor visibility necessitates advanced image processing to maintain detail. Previously, combining these specialized cameras with external recording systems often required manual setup. This integration removes those barriers by allowing users to select “Orphie” as a native input type within the SubC interface. Once the camera’s IP address is entered, the system provides immediate access to DVR capabilities without the need for custom configurations or technical workarounds.
Adam Rowe, VP of Software at SubC Imaging. “We designed this integration to be as seamless as possible for the user. By building native support for Orphie into the DVR+ Overlay, operators can go from setup to recording in minutes, with no custom configuration or workarounds needed.”
The system is optimized for diver-operated setups and light work-class ROVs. These sectors frequently deal with outdated recording hardware and low-visibility conditions that demand compact, high-performance tools. While this update focuses on the Orphie partnership, the DVR+ Overlay platform continues to maintain broad compatibility across all IP, composite, and HD-SDI camera formats.
Jules Guillien, Head of Sales and Product Owner at Orphie, stated, “Orphie cameras have been designed to make inspections safer and easier, saving our customers vessel time. It’s a vision we share with SubC Imaging through their integration of our cameras into the DVR+ Overlay solution.”
