Drop Camera System

The Drop Camera System is a complete underwater imaging solution for researchers, environmental monitoring teams, and marine operators who require high-quality imagery without the complexity of larger survey systems or custom-built drop frames.

Designed for rapid deployment from small vessels, the system combines Rayfin imaging, integrated DVR+ software, and a rugged stabilized frame to support data collection in sensitive marine environments. The platform captures live HD and 4K video, simultaneous 12.3 MP digital stills, and topside recordings with integrated Rayfin imaging and Aquorea LED lighting. Built-in image enhancement and anti-turbidity tools improve visibility in murky water, providing clearer live viewing during marine surveys and environmental observation activities.

The system automatically records depth, temperature, tilt, roll, and time/date metadata alongside imagery to improve traceability and simplify data review. DVR+ software enables users to tag events, add overlays and audio narration, and organize survey data from a single interface, with integrated review and reporting tools that support post-deployment workflows. A rugged aluminum frame and integrated stabilization tail help improve underwater tracking and image consistency during vertical drops, drifting deployments, and transects, while SubC Kevlar Data Cables and BPC (Boost-Power Comms) technology deliver power, video, camera control, and sensor data through a single lightweight connection.

The Drop Camera System supports no-contact surveys in marine protected areas, coral reefs, and other sensitive habitats where minimizing seabed disturbance is important, making it suitable for marine research, habitat monitoring, environmental assessments, coral reef monitoring, and marine protected area survey programs.
