With the Xsens MTi-G-710 entering its end-of-life phase, Xsens is outlining the transition to its Sirius Global Navigation Satellite System/Inertial Navigation System (GNSS/INS) series, which has been identified as the direct successor for future projects and new developments.
The MTi-G-710 remains available for order until October 30, 2026, with final shipments planned for April 2027 and support continuing through April 2028. Xsens has published migration guidance to help users transition from the MTi-G-710 to the Sirius GNSS/INS and Sirius RTK GNSS/INS.
The Sirius series is the next generation of rugged GNSS/INS solutions from Xsens, designed for reliable positioning and navigation performance in demanding environments. Compared with the MTi-G-710, it offers improved GNSS/INS performance, enhanced robustness for challenging operating conditions, updated hardware components and improved degraded-GNSS performance. The Sirius RTK GNSS/INS adds RTK support, while the series also provides additional outputs including heave and uncertainty estimation, alongside long-term support and availability.
The systems are designed for applications where positioning reliability and navigation performance are critical, including autonomous systems, offshore operations and environments affected by GNSS obstruction or interference. For applications that do not require the full performance or robustness of the Sirius series, the MTi-670G and MTi-680G will continue to remain available as mid-range GNSS/INS solutions within the Xsens portfolio.
