Xsens has introduced the Dual Antenna RTK GNSS/INS, a navigation solution designed to deliver precise position, orientation, true heading, and heave from startup, including when a platform is stationary or moving at low speed.
Conventional single-antenna and magnetometer-based navigation systems can require a platform to move before heading is available, or can be disturbed by nearby metal, motors, and electrical systems. The new Dual Antenna sensor module combines Xsens sensor fusion technology with a u-blox ZED-X20D all-band high-precision GNSS receiver. This configuration provides centimeter-level positioning and motion-independent heading, making it particularly suited for machinery, robots, vessels, and stabilized platforms operating from a standstill or at low speeds.
The hardware is offered in two distinct form factors to accommodate different integration requirements. The Avior Dual Antenna variant is designed as a compact, lightweight module for original equipment manufacturers seeking embedded integration and can be integrated with a wide range of external GNSS receivers. For exposed outdoor installations, the Sirius Dual Antenna variant packages the same core navigation capability in an IP68-rated aluminum housing tested according to MIL-STD-202 for shock, vibration, and environmental robustness. Operating across a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, the Sirius system supports RS232, RS422, CAN, and CAN-FD interfaces.
The release builds on an established collaboration between Xsens and u-blox, whose positioning technology is already used across other parts of the Xsens inertial sensor portfolio.

The Xsens Dual Antenna RTK GNSS/INS is scheduled for introduction in September 2026 and will be presented at INTERGEO 2026, with orders and availability to follow.
