An updated version of the MVP30 and MVP30-350 profiling systems from AML Oceanographic has been introduced to address component obsolescence and ensure long-term manufacturability through a modernized architecture.
The refreshed system, designated as the MVP30 V2, transitions from custom electronics to industry-standard PLC-based control components to improve overall serviceability. This architectural simplification removes one control box to enable easier installation for operators while fully maintaining the platform’s proven profiling performance. The focus on simplification and modernization is designed to ensure the system remains dependable and sustainable for long-term operations.
Physical updates to the system infrastructure include an independent emergency stop device that can be positioned flexibly for easier access and safer operation. System feedback has also been upgraded with a color-coded LED status indicator, which provides operators with clearer visibility into real-time system status and specific error conditions.
For operations requiring deeper water column access, the MVP30-350 V2 Underway Profiler extends the operational profiling range using 440 meters of installed cable while maintaining a small physical footprint. This configuration supports up to six independent data collection parameters and delivers real-time profiling capabilities alongside the updated controls and enhanced visual feedback systems.
The introduction of these updated systems does not alter the ongoing commitment to customers who continue to operate earlier versions of the MVP30 platform.
