AML Oceanographic has introduced the MVP Roam™ underway profiler following the acquisition of underway profiling technology intellectual property from Revelare Systems.
Under the terms of the acquisition, AML will now manufacture, support, and service the technology under the MVP Roam name. The system is designed to provide the capabilities of the established Moving Vessel Profiler (MVP) series in a more compact and portable format for operations where vessel space and integration time are limited.
The MVP Roam supports up to four environmental parameters and is capable of autonomous operation at depths of up to 60 meters while the vessel is underway. It utilizes a freewheeling design that allows for vertical profiling through the water column. This addition to the AML lineup allows surveyors to scale their profiling hardware to specific vessel sizes and project constraints without sacrificing data quality.
Robert Haydock, CEO of AML Oceanographic, commented, “This is an exciting step forward for AML. By working closely with the Revelare team, we’re expanding our underway profiling capabilities and strengthening our product portfolio. This move allows us to combine proven technology with AML’s global reach, giving customers greater flexibility and confidence as their survey needs continue to evolve.”
Geoff Lawes, Managing Director of Revelare Systems, added, “We are very pleased to see this product transition to AML, where it can benefit from their manufacturing scale, global support network, and long-standing expertise in MVP systems. AML is well positioned to take this technology forward and we are excited to see it evolve into the MVP Roam™.”
The MVP Roam is available for delivery in six to sixteen-weeks.
