SubCtech, with a focus on sustainable energy solutions, is currently developing a 1 MWh Battery Storage Skid, specifically designed for subsea deployment.
The company expects this scalable energy storage solution (up to 6 MWh) to play a key role in powering underwater applications while reducing environmental impact.
The 1 MWh marine battery system represents a significant step toward sustainable offshore energy. This system efficiently stores and utilises electricity underwater, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions. It is ideal for applications in offshore wind farms, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and other energy-intense subsea operations.
SubCtech’s collaboration with a Norwegian supplier has resulted in the fabrication of 12 stainless steel tubes, marking a significant advancement in the 1 MWh Subsea Battery System project. These tubes, which will serve as the battery system’s robust casing, are specifically engineered to endure the harsh conditions of the deep sea. The photos from the production site highlight the precision and quality maintained by SubCtech’s partners, showcasing their commitment to the high standards of reliability and safety necessary for subsea applications.
SubCtech remains committed to its vision of revolutionising the energy sector with innovative underwater solutions. With the 1 MWh battery system’s development, SubCtech reinforces its commitment to environmental sustainability through technological innovation.
