Xsens provides inertial sensor modules for marine applications ranging from autonomous surface vessels to subsea Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs).
Across the Avior Series, Sirius Series, MTi 1-Series, and MTi 600-Series, available configurations include Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), Vertical Reference Unit (VRU), Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS), Motion Reference Unit (MRU), GNSS/INS, and GNSS/INS + RTK functionality.
Xsens Avior Series
The Xsens Avior Series is a low SWaP-C OEM solution for demanding motion dynamics. The Avior AHRS/MRU provides drift-free roll and pitch, true-north-referenced yaw, and heave output for marine applications.
Its compact OEM form factor supports embedded integration, with interfaces including UART, CAN, I2C, SPI, RS232, RS424, and optional EtherCAT. Flexible protocol support includes RS232, RS422, CAN, and others configurable through firmware.
Xsens Sirius Series
The Xsens Sirius Series is designed to withstand harsh marine environments, with a MIL-standard IP68 housing resistant to temperature extremes, humidity, salt spray, sand and dust, shock and vibration, and electromagnetic interference.
Roll/pitch accuracy is specified at 0.2° RMS, with yaw/heading accuracy of 1° RMS. Real-time heave output provides less than 5 cm accuracy for heave periods up to 29 seconds.
Available configurations include the Sirius IMU, Sirius VRU, Sirius AHRS & MRU, Sirius GNSS/INS, and Sirius RTK GNSS/INS. Across these configurations, available outputs and capabilities include calibrated angular velocity, acceleration and magnetic field data, orientation, true-north-referenced heading, heave, GNSS-aided navigation, and centimeter-level RTK positioning.
Xsens MTi 1-Series
The Xsens MTi 1-Series provides onboard sensor fusion in a 12 × 12 mm SMD form factor for space-constrained designs. Specified performance includes roll/pitch accuracy of 0.5° RMS, yaw/heading accuracy of up to 1° RMS, and RTK position accuracy of 1 cm + 1 ppm CEP.
The series comprises the MTi-1 IMU, MTi-2 VRU, MTi-3 AHRS, MTi-7 GNSS/INS, and MTi-8 GNSS/INS + RTK, providing a range of motion, orientation, heading, and positioning capabilities within the same compact module family.
Xsens MTi 600-Series
The Xsens MTi 600-Series provides both OEM and rugged IP68 modules and has been deployed in hundreds of marine designs. The series offers functionality from IMU through GNSS/INS + RTK.
Roll/pitch accuracy is specified at 0.2° RMS, yaw/heading accuracy at up to 0.5° RMS, and RTK position accuracy at 1 cm + 1 ppm CEP.
Models include the MTi-610 IMU, MTi-620 VRU, MTi-630 AHRS, MTi-670 GNSS/INS, and MTi-680 GNSS/INS + RTK, with corresponding rugged versions available across the series.
