Teledyne RD Instruments, a division of Teledyne Marine, and partner Aqua Vision have secured a long-term contract with Rijkswaterstaat for the delivery and maintenance of Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs).
The contract is set for 10 years, with an option to extend for a further five years.
Over 80 WorkHorse II ADCPs will be supplied to support Rijkswaterstaat’s water monitoring programs in the Netherlands. The project began on July 31 with the delivery of the first units.
Arjan Rietveld, Sales Manager, Imaging & Instruments at Teledyne Marine, commented on the first delivery, stating, “Delivering the first units by hand after years of preparation and discussions was a truly rewarding moment. Seeing the enthusiasm of the users who will work with this equipment was the highlight. We’re proud that Rijkswaterstaat chose our robust and trusted WorkHorse II. We couldn’t have done it without the strong collaboration and support from Aqua Vision.”
Jeroen van Dam, Head of Sales and Marketing at Aqua Vision, also noted, “It’s been fantastic working with Teledyne RD Instruments to make this possible. Their flexibility and commitment to delivering the best possible offer truly made it a collaborative effort. Handing over the ADCPs together with Arjan is the crowning achievement of our joint work.”
Rijkswaterstaat’s Technical and Contract Manager, Ilke Hagendoorn, explained that the agency uses various ADCPs and floats to measure flow velocity and direction in Dutch waters. Hagendoorn added, “Some of these ADCPs are now more than 20 years old which shows the high quality of the Teledyne RD Instruments ADCP products. For many years, Aqua Vision has maintained all Teledyne RD Instruments’ ADCPs and floats on behalf of Rijkswaterstaat, consistently proving to be a reliable partner. We are therefore pleased to continue this collaboration and to have Aqua Vision supply us with the new generation of ADCPs from Teledyne RD Instruments in the coming years.”
