Silicon Sensing Systems Ltd has reached a significant milestone with the production of its 30 millionth inertial sensor.
Established in 1999, the company supplies inertial sensors and systems globally to various markets, including defence, aerospace, marine, space, transport, robotics, and industrial production.
Silicon Sensing focuses on developing high-performance gyros, accelerometers, combi-sensors, and inertial measurement units (IMUs) utilizing its unique, patented micro electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) technology. These products include IMUs and gyros designed to challenge the performance levels of larger, heavier, and less robust fibre optic (FOG) and dynamically tuned gyro (DTG)-based systems.
The company’s in-house production facilities are designed to manufacture these precision products at high volume while adhering to the rigorous and often complex standards demanded by its multiple markets.
General Manager of Silicon Sensing, David Somerville, commented on the achievement, “The production of 30 million sensors is an immense accomplishment for our team. Achieving this milestone has required substantial engineering expertise, continuous process refinement, sustained innovation, clear long-term commitment and considerable financial investment. Together, these factors have enabled us to maximise production whilst maintaining exceptional product performance.”
