eSonar’s innovative perception approach can expand the capability and feature diversity of even micro-AUV platforms, enabling subsea systems to operate beyond open ocean data collection and support precision survey operations in confined areas. Read more >>
The result is situational awareness data that is specific, measurable, and appropriate to the limited processing power available on smaller platforms.
The approach contrasts with high-end imaging sonar systems that generate stored datasets intended for post-survey interpretation, requiring analysis after deployment. These systems provide limited or no operational benefit during use. eSonar combines multiple smart yet simple data sets into a consolidated output that is operationally useful, mission-appropriate, and tactically sound, while still supporting other onboard data collection systems.
Extended Development Team and Design Services
For organisations developing complex electronics from concept through to production, eSonar provides support across the full development cycle, including schematic and PCB design, prototyping, small batch manufacture, firmware and software development, product design, and project management.
Partners have access to eSonar’s intellectual property library, custom firmware design, and signal processing software, alongside hardware and software development expertise. The approach supports integration with customer supply chains across product and service delivery.
On the hardware side, eSonar delivers sonar transducer designs together with schematic and PCB layouts, working across tools including AutoDesk Eagle and Altium Designer, SolidWorks, and Fusion 360. Software development spans C and C++, MATLAB, Qt, and Microsoft Visual Studio, across Windows and Linux environments, with version control managed through Git and SVN. Supported hardware platforms include embedded Ethernet systems, PIC and ARM-based SAM microcontrollers, Google Coral TPU machine learning platforms, and Altera CPLDs.
