Micro Sonar Nodes

Altimeter & collision avoidance sonar for AUVs & ROVs

Our Micro Sonar Nodes are small form factor altimeter and sounder units designed to deliver enhanced situational awareness capabilities for AUVs, ROVs and underwater robotics platforms. The system utilizes a suppressed side-lobe beam pattern, and provides an operating range of up to 100 metres.

Our AUV Situational Awareness Suite combines real-time data from a variety of sources to equip underwater robotic vehicles with enhanced perception capabilities that allow them to undertake precision survey tasks in confined areas. Water Immersion Detection

Non-contact immersion detection & power switching for subsea sensors

Seacap Water Immersion DetectionOur Seacap water immersion detectors allow subsea sensors to be automatically activated when immersed in seawater, providing enhanced convenience and maximizing battery life. The system is made up of three PCBs – a 10 Amp rated high side switch board, a power supply board, and a sensing board – all of which can fit comfortably in a 9/16″ (14.3mm) outer diameter recess.

Seacap is available as a 1000m rated o-ring sealed pressure housing penetrator that can mount in any pressure housing. We can also provide custom integration into your sensor designs, with full support from our expert engineering team.

TrawlVue Monitoring System

Trawl management solutions for commercial fishing & research

We provide a full suite of marine-grade trawl management solutions that are ideal for a range of commercial fishing and scientific research applications. All sensors feature rechargeable Li-Ion batteries and advanced power management that enables long operating lives of up to 400 hours between charges.

SeineVue Monitoring System

Acoustic monitoring solutions for purse seine fisheries

TrawlVue Monitoring System

The SeineVue wireless acoustic monitoring system is designed to ensure maximum efficiency and optimized operation for purse seine fisheries, utilizing omnidirectional sensors mounted on the foot of the seine that transmit depth and temperature information. This data is received by a vessel-mounted omnidirectional hydrophone and graphed on an intuitive real-time GUI, allowing timely pursing of the net for optimal catch yields.

Marine Mammal Detection

We are developing state-of-the-art technologies aimed at reducing the impact of commercial shipping activities on endangered marine mammals. Our Marine Mammal Detection system is based around a pop-up system that utilizes a sensor package with a variable buoyancy engine that traverses a vertical mooring line, and detects radiated vessel noise as well as the presence of whales.

The system can transmit data via SATCOM in order to provide passing vessels with information on their noise signature, as well as the presence of whales within a range of over eight kilometres.

Marine Vessel Noise Measurement

We have developed innovative and fully integrated data collection technologies that characterize the broadband propeller noise emitted from a range of different vessel types. This data can be used to study the impact of this noise upon the surrounding environment, as well as to provide crews with information on how noise is linked to vessel thrust and speed. Learn more >
