Acoustic Beacons for AUV Recovery
RJE International’s acoustic beacons, such as the ULB-350 and ULB-362PL, play a critical role in the tracking and recovery of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs). These beacons emit periodic acoustic signals that can be detected by surface vessels or divers using compatible tracking receivers.
When installed on an AUV, RJE’s acoustic beacons support accurate localization following mission completion, malfunction, or emergency scenarios where surfacing is delayed or not possible.

ULB-350
The ULB-350 is a compact, low-cost acoustic pinger designed for marking subsea equipment and underwater sites at depths of up to 1200 meters. It supports continuous transmission for up to 60 days on a single 9V battery or programmed time-delay operation for up to three months, making it well suited to size- and weight-constrained applications.
ULB-362PL (Power Loss)
The ULB-362PL is a compact underwater location beacon intended for installation on ROVs, AUVs, and other subsea equipment. Designed for use at full ocean depths, it is available in 27 kHz, 37 kHz, and 45 kHz configurations and can transmit acoustic signals for up to 90 days.
ATT-400
The ATT-400 is an acoustic transponder designed for straightforward deployment at depths of up to 1000 meters. With battery life of up to 6 months, it provides range and bearing data when interrogated by compatible acoustic receivers and can also be configured to operate as a free-running pinger.
Acoustic Receivers
RJE International’s acoustic receivers and interrogators support precise location and recovery of subsea assets in challenging waters and poor visibility. These systems can be deployed on surface vessels, integrated into subsea vehicles, or operated by divers, with configurable options for frequency range, hydrophones, and operational depth.
PRS-275
The PRS-275 diver pinger receiver is designed to detect 5 to 80 kHz acoustic beacons at depths of up to 200 meters. It provides feedback through a waterproof headset and signal strength meter and can be converted for surface operation using a directional hydrophone and adjustable mast assembly.
VADR-6000M
The VADR-6000M is a rugged directional receiver intended for integration on ROVs and AUVs. Operating at depths of up to 6000 meters, it tracks acoustic sound sources across frequencies from 8 kHz to 45 kHz and delivers accurate range and bearing data. When paired with the ATT-400, it supports acoustic transponder interrogation with location accuracy within one meter.
