Robosys Automation has been selected as a finalist in the Maritime UK Solent Awards 2024.
Robosys was announced as a finalist in the Future Skills Awards category. This category was open to any business, charity, or organization that provides solutions to support the next generation of mariners, and is based in the UK’s Solent region.
One of Robosys’ solutions cited within the award submission was its work with the South Coast College Group, in the delivery of a cutting edge Digital Training Vessel (DTV).
The DTV is now in use across many of its Solent-based colleges, including CEMAST Fareham College, for educating college students in the operation and maintenance of remote operated unmanned surface vessels (USVs) as part of a new curriculum.
The Maritime UK Solent Awards Celebration will be held in Portsmouth in October, and will bring together over 300 industry colleagues to celebrate the Solent’s buoyant maritime sector and the region’s myriad of achievements.
Anne-Marie Mountifield, Chair of Maritime UK Solent, commented, “Now in its third year, the Maritime UK Solent Awards continue to go from strength-to-strength. We have been thrilled with the extremely high quality of submissions this year.
“It really is fantastic to see the outstanding quality of talent and skill in our region showcasing what an incredibly strong and thriving maritime sector we have here. I am delighted to applaud the finalists, who are at the forefront of the Solent’s world-class maritime sector. Many congratulations to Robosys Automation!”
Nigel Lee, CSO of Robosys, added, “We are delighted to be attending once again as Finalists at the Maritime UK Solent Awards ceremony, as not only is it a fantastic event, we will also be returning as former winners, as Robosys Automation won the Maritime UK Solent’s International Trade Award at last year’s event!
“Thanks to the entire Robosys team for helping us to achieve such incredible results for us and our customers, enabling us to become a finalist for this prestigious award, which is so key to the future of the maritime industry. We would not be a finalist at the MUKS Awards if Maritime UK Solent themselves had not been so supportive in helping Robosys to develop. We wish to extend our congratulations to the other shortlisted entrants, and look forward to seeing them at the awards ceremony.”
