The Prime Minister of Malta, Dr. Robert Abela, was recently hosted by MostaTech Ltd. for a tour of their facility in the Mosta Technopark, gaining a firsthand insight into their process of manufacturing miniature fiber optic gyroscopes (FOGs) and FOG-based inertial measurement units (IMUs).
The visit, which took place on Monday, April 28th, was also attended by Silvio Schembri, Minister for the Economy, Enterprise, and Strategic Projects. The delegation toured the company’s production floor and research and development division, gaining a firsthand look at the advanced technologies driving MostaTech’s innovation in inertial sensing. The 3,200-square-meter facility houses around 70 specialized professionals and features proprietary equipment developed in-house to support precision manufacturing.

Operating in Malta since 2008, MostaTech has established itself as a global supplier of inertial navigation solutions. The company’s fiber optic gyroscopes can be found in systems requiring stabilization, control, and accurate navigation across various industries, for example within the Airbus A350’s flight control system.
Dr. Abela’s visit is said to underscore the relevance of high-tech manufacturing within Malta’s growing innovation ecosystem.
MostaTech continues to play a role in positioning Malta as a center for advanced manufacturing and aerospace-grade sensor technology, with a focus on continual research, development, and international impact.
