Inertial Labs, a VIAVI Solutions company that designs and manufactures inertial navigation systems for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications, has officially renewed its AS9100:2016 quality management certification following an audit by ANAB-accredited body DQS Inc. under AS9104/1.
The renewed certificate lists Viavi Solutions, Inc. as the central function, with two U.S. operational facilities belonging to Inertial Labs covered under the organizational scope. The Paeonian Springs, Virginia site is certified for the design, development, and manufacture of position and orientation tracking systems combining inertial sensors with other sensing technologies, encompassing the company’s IMU, INS, AHRS, and sensor fusion lines, as well as GNSS-denied navigation solutions such as RESEPI LiDAR, EchoONE, APNT, VINS, IRINS, and CheetahNAV.
The facility in Rapid City, South Dakota receives specific certification for the design and manufacture of high-performance, low-drift IMUs. Built upon ISO 9001 standards, AS9100 incorporates essential aerospace-specific requirements including risk management, configuration control, and product traceability that many aviation, space, and defense programs require prior to supplier qualification.
Issued on September 15, 2026, under registration number 31635585 AS0016A, the renewal extends the certification’s validity through September 14, 2029, with official status verifiable directly via an embedded QR code.
