Underwater photography presents a challenge as water absorbs visible light unevenly, often resulting in color images that appear predominantly blue or green. This effect distorts the true colors of the ocean. Automated color correction, depending on environmental conditions, range, and lighting, is a difficult task.
ViewLS leverages machine-learning color algorithms to develop a Correction Model using a sample of image data. This allows for automated color reproduction and light leveling without the need for manual adjustments. The result is efficient processing of large image datasets that remains accurate and consistent, enabling the creation of wide-area mosaics and photogrammetry.
