SubCtech has been acquired by Gabler Maschinenbau GmbH, part of the Possehl Group, uniting the two companies in the field of maritime technology and aiming to leverage shared sales channels and technology to strengthen their market position.
The integration of SubCtech gives the Gabler Group access to innovative solutions for the rapidly expanding market of underwater vehicles, offshore renewable and Oil+Gas battery systems, as well as ocean monitoring systems. At the same time, SubCtech will benefit from Gabler Ocean Group’s robust sales infrastructure and maritime footprint. Joint development projects and the shared use of existing resources are expected to significantly boost the innovation and competitiveness of both companies.
SubCtech is an internationally recognized provider of high-tech systems for maritime applications, particularly in underwater energy supply and ocean monitoring. Gabler Maschinenbau has long been a maritime technology leader in submarine and special-purpose machinery. By combining SubCtech’s technological and market expertise with Gabler’s decades of experience and global market reach, both companies are opening new growth opportunities.
As part of the acquisition, SubCtech also becomes a member of Gabler Ocean, a dedicated group of companies such as Develogic GmbH and north.io GmbH that specialize in advanced ocean technology. Stefan Marx will continue to actively shape SubCtech’s success within the Gabler Group as managing director.
David Schirm, Managing Director of Gabler Maschinenbau GmbH and Possehl PMB for corporate participation in SMEs, commented, “With the acquisition of SubCtech, we continue our clear approach in forming a powerful alliance in the maritime technology sector. Our customers can look forward to an expanded product portfolio and even more advanced technological solutions.”
Stefan Marx, founder and Managing Director of SubCtech GmbH, stated, “Joining the Possehl Group and Gabler Maschinenbau GmbH and becoming part of Gabler Group, allows us to bring our technologies to market faster and more broadly, especially through access to new markets and assure long stability for our customers worldwide.”
Both companies will continue operations at their respective locations in Lübeck and Kiel. Together with Develogic GmbH in Hamburg and north.io GmbH in Kiel, the collaboration underscores Northern Germany’s role as a hub for maritime high technology and sustainable innovation.
