The company’s flexible, high-accuracy AI-powered autonomous lookout system Awarion® is designed to enhance marine situational awareness, detecting, analyzing, and reporting on the presence of whales, ships, fishing buoys, sailboats, and other objects by using electro-optical and infrared video technology.

The company’s recent developments and achievements include receiving a contract from the Office of Naval Research to prototype and subsequently evaluate HIEROPHANT, a system that, even in challenging environments, facilitates the seamless integration of adaptable and resilient autonomous systems in existing naval structures.

Prototyping is another large part of Charles River’s business, with the company providing year-round access to littoral testing waters via their state-of-the-art Marine Systems Test Facility. This is run in conjunction with their research and development hardware prototyping, enabling a full engineering team with extensive experience in maritime surface and subsurface applications to support and streamline the process.
