Micro-Magic, a developer of marine-grade inertial sensing systems for offshore and subsea industries, has released a new generation of tactical-grade single-axis MEMS gyroscope sensors.
This new series of sensors is designed to provide a precise motion-sensing foundation for next-generation high-dynamic, autonomous, unmanned platforms, including subsea and surface vehicles operating in challenging marine environments.
The MEMS gyroscope product lineup features multiple models, including the MG-101/102, MG-401 series, MG-501 series, MG-2001, and MG-4001/4002. All models share a unified miniaturized ceramic package measuring 10 × 10 × 3.5 mm and weighing 1.5 grams, along with a fully digital output. Together, these features support applications ranging from ultra-high-precision sensing to ultra-wide dynamic-range measurement.
These sensors are optimized for deep integration with Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs), Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) and other robotic platforms. The series is intended to support stable operation and intelligent decision-making in complex environments.
The gyroscope series’ technical specifications address the demanding requirements of unmanned systems across a wide range of operating scenarios. These include stable measurement of low angular velocities within ±100°/s for long-duration underwater submersible operations, alongside support for high-dynamic motion in other unmanned platforms.
The series is also intended to deliver reliable angular rate data for unmanned vehicles operating in rugged environments subject to continuous shock and vibration.
The product line is positioned to support the industry’s shift toward greater intelligence, swarm capabilities, and higher precision in unmanned systems. Its launch comes at a pivotal moment in the global advancement of unmanned platforms, where the performance of core sensors has increasingly emerged as a bottleneck to system capability enhancement.
