Actisense has released a new firmware update for its W2K-1 NMEA 2000 Wi-Fi Gateway, delivering improved performance and efficiency through a revised code base.
In addition to fixing several bugs, the update introduces new features, with more enhancements expected in future updates.
New Navigation Features
Users will now find additional navigation buttons designed to provide quick access to essential tools, including data logs, network mapping, and the newly introduced Data Viewer.
Live NMEA Data Viewer
A key upgrade is the new Data Viewer, which allows users to monitor all live PGN outputs directly from the device. This feature provides timestamp validity, data throughput confirmation, and real-time insight into the actual data being transmitted. These capabilities can significantly aid troubleshooting and system diagnostics.
Enhanced NMEA Data Logging
The W2K-1 NMEA 2000 data logger offers a cost-effective solution for recording network data. The Log Download page displays collected logs stored on the SD card, while the Settings > Logging section provides details on storage capacity and usage.
Comprehensive Network Mapping
Actisense has improved access to its Network Mapping tool, previously available in the Actisense-i suite. Users can now easily view every connected device on the NMEA 2000 (N2K) bus and see the PGNs each device is outputting, helping to confirm system integrity and functionality.
Simplified Data Routing Management
New improvements to the Data Routing Settings offer clearer insights into data flow across the NMEA 2000/CAN bus and connected data servers, helping users efficiently manage data sources and destinations.
These updates aim to improve system monitoring, troubleshooting, and overall user experience for marine electronics professionals.
