The NGX-1 is a multifunctional gateway device that is ideal for connecting legacy NMEA 0183 equipment to modern NMEA 2000 networks, and can also be used as an interface between the NMEA 2000 network and the PC in order to allow PC software such as chartplotter applications to send data to the network. The device also allows for diagnosis of the NMEA 2000 network using the free software provided.
The NGX-1 is available in two versions - one with a USB cable for convenient plug-and-play connectivity with a PC, and one with a bare wire open-ended cable for connectivity to an NMEA 0183 device or serial port.
