UMag Solutions builds the world’s most sensitive drone magnetic payloads, battle-proven since 2023 with 200+ systems in operational use today. The payloads are drone agnostic, detecting landmines, naval mines, UXO, submarines and UUVs in real time, without putting personnel in the minefield or the water.

Applications

Unlike sound or light, a magnetic anomaly passes through water without scattering or loss of signal. Detection works day or night, in turbid water, and on objects fully buried in sand or mud. Delivered by drone, this technology brings persistent, wide-area coverage to a broad range of defense and infrastructure-protection missions.

Naval mine countermeasures (MCM)
Detection of moored, bottom and buried naval mines in coastal waters and harbours, down to a depth of 20 to 30 metres water. This covers the very shallow zone that is too tight for mine countermeasure vessels or too disturbed for optical and LiDAR sensors. Every detection is transmitted in real time with high-precision X, Y and Z coordinates. Open-sea search is covered by the high-speed solution, which maps large areas for moored mines at up to 70 hectares per hour. Deployable from land and from ship.

Anti-submarine and anti-UUV warfare (ASW)
Detection of submarines, AUVs, UUVs and other submerged targets, including targets on the move. Detections are reported in real time with position in X, Y and Z. At operational speeds up to 120 km/h and high coverage rates, large open-sea areas are searched in a single mission.

Land countermeasures
Detection of buried anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, UXO and other ordnance in the ground, including landing beaches ahead of an amphibious operation. Larger metallic targets such as armoured vehicles are detected under dense vegetation. Real-time detections with position in X, Y and Z.

Harbour and critical infrastructure protection
Harbours and ports can be monitored on a repeated basis. Changes on and below the seabed are identified in real time, along with targets that were not there before. Repeat surveys build a baseline, so new threats stand out instead of hiding in the background.

FastMag®

High-speed ASW and open-sea naval mine detection

The FastMag^® is built for speed. A single-sensor quantum payload for anti-submarine warfare, open-sea naval mine detection and seabed surveillance, operating at speeds up to 120 km/h. At 2.5 kg it fits multi-rotor, helicopter and VTOL fixed-wing platforms, and deploys from land or from the deck of a ship.
