The FastMag® from UMag Solutions is an airborne quantum magnetic sensing payload developed for large area, rapid real-time detection of submarines and naval mines from drone platforms. Using UMag Solutions’ quantum picoFiRe® technology, the system operates at flight speeds up to 35 m/s while supporting long-range radio communication, more than 10 hours of continuous operation, and resilience against jamming and spoofing. It is designed for missions over both land and sea, including anti-submarine (ASW) and anti-UUV warfare, open-sea naval mine detection, and identification of vehicles or command structures concealed beneath dense vegetation.
For ASW missions, the FastMag® detects average-sized submarines at depths of 250-500 meters while surveying as much as 6,000 hectares per hour. In mine-countermeasure operations, it can locate moored, bottom, and buried naval mines across up to 70 hectares per hour, reporting detections in real time with X, Y, and Z coordinates. The payload integrates with drone platforms from more than 20 partners and works with UMagMission® software for mission planning, execution, live subsurface visualization, and target analysis. Targets are transmited in real time via NATO STANAG 4817.
