European navies have initiated the urgent procurement of lightweight Mine Countermeasures (MCM) systems from SEABER in response to the current geopolitical situation in the Near and Middle East.
To support the critical detection phase of mine clearance operations, SEABER is equipping these naval forces with lightweight, cost-effective, and fully autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). Designed for rapid field deployment, each system can be deployed and operated by a single person.
The platforms perform high-resolution acoustic imaging of the seabed by combining an onboard side-scan sonar with SEABER’s advanced INX navigation technology. The resulting sonar imagery enables operators to reliably detect and identify mine-like objects even within complex seabed environments.
These deployments contribute directly to the maritime security and protection missions of Allied Navies. Additionally, the technology supports the broader naval transition toward hybrid defense models that seamlessly integrate manned and unmanned capabilities.
