Sea-Bird Scientific has announced its upcoming Sea-Bird University 2026 training seminar, a four-day immersive workshop designed to enhance the practical field skills and technical data processing capabilities of oceanographic professionals.
The event will take place from Monday, September 28 through Thursday, October 1, 2026, running daily from 08:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center in Bellevue, Washington. The training seminar is open to scientists, engineers, technicians, and field operators. The technical curriculum spans multiple areas, including profiling systems, moored sensors, oxygen, pH, optics, and advanced CTD data processing.
Designed to assist both individuals new to the instrumentation and experienced users seeking to sharpen high-level data analysis techniques, the workshop focuses on delivering actionable knowledge for immediate application during upcoming field deployments or cruises. To accommodate varying professional schedules, the program structure is flexible, allowing participants to register for either individual instructional days or the complete four-day program.
Regardless of their daily schedule selections, all participants are invited to attend a Sea-Bird Scientific facility tour and happy hour. This event will take place from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 1, and requires an advance RSVP for those planning to attend.
