Saab UK has received an order from global offshore wind leader Ørsted for a Seaeye Cougar XT Compact, expanding the company’s subsea fleet to three Cougar vehicles.
Selected to support inspection and maintenance across Ørsted’s offshore wind assets, the Cougar XT Compact features an electric architecture designed to deliver precise control and manoeuvrability. The vehicle combines a compact and flexible design with the power and reliability required for complex subsea intervention and monitoring operations.
Deploying remotely operated vehicles allows Ørsted to inspect and maintain critical infrastructure, including foundations, cables, and other submerged assets, maximising operational availability and supporting continuous energy generation. The deployment draws on more than four decades of Saab UK Seaeye systems operating in demanding subsea environments, delivering capabilities to support infrastructure critical to the global energy transition.
The order marks an ongoing milestone in the relationship between Saab UK and Ørsted, reinforcing a track record of supporting offshore wind operations with reliable robotic platforms.
“We are delighted to receive this order from Ørsted. Expanding its Saab Seaeye fleet with a third Cougar system reflects the confidence the company has in our technology and its ability to support inspection and maintenance operations across offshore wind assets,” said Jon Robertson, Seaeye Managing Director at Saab UK.
