
D-2 Inc. showcased its latest conductivity, temperature, and depth (CTD) sensor solutions at Combined Naval Event 2025 in Farnborough, United Kingdom, from May 20–22.
At the event, D-2 presented its CTD instrumentation for the underwater naval warfare environment. These CTDs provide highly accurate measurements of ocean salinity, temperature, and pressure. D-2’s CTD sensors are extremely compact, feature very low power consumption, and deliver fast, reliable data.
D-2 recently achieved a new milestone with its Ultra Low Power CTD, which draws only 10 mA—ideal for UUV, USV, profiler, and submarine operations. This reportedly makes it one of the lowest-power CTDs available, while also maintaining high accuracy through closed-field precision.
The company offers multiple models, including the standard Ocean CTD, the Ultra Low Power CTD, and the popular CT sensor. All closed-field cells are manufactured in the USA, can be rapidly produced, and are easily integrated onto underwater platforms without affecting calibration—making them well suited for rapid deployment across unmanned fleets.
PEAK Testing Kit
D-2’s PEAK Testing Kit made its debut at Combined Naval Event 2025. The system functions as a mobile fuel laboratory contained entirely within a hardened, military-grade carrying case. It is designed to certify fuel for U.S. military operations and to operate without being removed from its case. The kit performs every test required to verify that fuel is safe for use aboard aircraft carriers, preventing contamination of onboard supplies.
With the PEAK Testing Kit, users can quickly certify captured fuel sources in the field using the hardened military case and automated, easy-to-use tests. This enables flight to the edge of a helicopter’s range, refueling from captured sources, and returning to land on a carrier without having to ditch the aircraft, as the fuel is certified safe for use.
