The Workhorse Proteus is an advanced ADCP (acoustic Doppler current profiler) designed to gather the greatest possible amount of oceanographic and hydrological data with a single instrument. Featuring Teledyne's most advanced Doppler processing platform and catalyst edge processor, it can simultaneously sample at multiple spatial and temporal scales, unlocking new insights into waves, turbulence, and changing currents.
The unit outputs five beams for direct measurement of vertical velocity, with a narrow beamwidth for higher precision and low error velocity. A new AHRS provides better orientation compensation, leading to more accurate data collection and more conclusive results. Proteus includes both serial and Ethernet interfaces for easy integration into a variety of surface and subsurface platforms.
