TOGS from Teledyne TSS is a subsea navigation system that provides heading, roll, pitch, and heave data for remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and other underwater platforms. Built on Teledyne TSS fiber optic gyro (FOG) technology, it offers a 10-minute alignment time, low power consumption, and configuration options for subsea navigation, construction, and positioning tasks. Titanium housings rated to 4,000 m or 6,000 m are available, depending on the model.
The current range comprises four heading accuracy variants: TOGS 05 (0.05°), TOGS1 (0.1°), TOGS3 (0.3°), and TOGS5 (0.5°). The stated roll and pitch accuracy is 0.01° for TOGS1 and 0.05° for TOGS3 and TOGS5. TOGS also provides heave data, helping ROV operators and survey systems account for vehicle motion.
An embedded browser interface supports setup and configuration, while a range of outputs and aiding inputs allows integration with other subsea equipment. An AHRS-to-INS upgrade option is available for applications requiring inertial positioning.
