SATURN from Teledyne TSS is a TOGS subsea navigation system designed to provide accurate heading, attitude, and motion data for marine operations. Based on fiber optic gyro (FOG) technology, SATURN delivers reliable attitude and heading reference system (AHRS) performance without moving parts, supporting long-term operation with high mean time between failures. The system is designed for applications including survey vessels, workboats, and commercial marine platforms requiring dependable navigation information in demanding operating environments.
SATURN provides heading, pitch, roll, heave, and velocity outputs, with three model options offering heading accuracy of 0.1°, 0.3°, and 0.5° sec latitude. The system features rapid alignment, reaching operational readiness within approximately 10 minutes of switch-on, while low power consumption provides an alternative to ring laser gyro solutions. Configuration and setup are simplified through the Teledyne TSS embedded browser interface, and AHRS-to-INS upgrade functionality allows future capability expansion.
Engineered with robust aluminum construction and an IP31 rating, SATURN is designed for reliable marine deployment. The system is IMO approved and WheelMark certified, with accurate motion measurements including roll and pitch performance and heave measurement capability. Combining proven FOG technology with streamlined operation, SATURN supports precise navigation and motion reference requirements across a range of marine applications.
