Kraken MP-SAS (Man-Portable Synthetic Aperture Sonar) provides revolutionary imaging capabilities for smaller host platforms such as man-portable UUVs with low logistics footprints, offering a swath of up to 100m per side at up to 2 x 2cm resolution. Based on Kraken SAS technology and featuring lightweight transducers and other SWaP optimizations, MP-SAS empowers underwater vehicles that were previously unable to host SAS survey equipment. The system is rated to depths of 300 meters.
A modular payload section allows MP-SAS to be retrofitted to small subsea vehicles with diameters from 7.5 to 9″, and enables easy in-field installation without the need for recalibration. The proven solution has been successfully integrated into 20+ year old vehicles, providing a significant capability upgrade at a fraction of the cost of a new system.
