KATFISH is an actively stabilized SAS towfish that provides simultaneous sonar and 3D bathymetry data with industry-leading resolution and coverage rates. The high-speed platform can operate at up to 10 knots, ensuring reduced survey times and operating costs compared to slower-moving platforms.
Delivering data at an unparalleled 3 x 3 cm for real-time SAS imagery, KATFISH allows results to be viewed in real time on board the towing vessel, or sent remotely to a mothership or shore-based command station. The platform utilizes articulated tailfins and an intelligent autopilot to compensate for motion, ensuring the highest quality data.
KATFISH can be rapidly deployed from a variety of crewed or uncrewed vessels of opportunity with the use of an autonomous LARS (launch and recovery system) in either small USV or ISO20 form factors. It is ideal for a variety of civilian and defense applications including pipeline inspection, environmental monitoring, mine countermeasures and more.
