The MRU-B2 is a basic motion reference unit that combines three-axis solid state accelerometers, gyroscopes and barometric sensors and delivers heave, surge, sway, pitch and roll outputs for marine and maritime applications. With low noise and high accuracy, the sensor provides reliable real-time measurement under challenging surface or subsea conditions, and is ideal for a variety of use cases including bathymetric and hydrographic survey, platform stabilization, and unmanned underwater vehicles.
The unit incorporates a range of algorithms for specific platforms including surface vessels, ROVs and AUVs, buoys, cranes, helidecks and more. Data can be output in standard industry formats including Kongsberg/Seatex, Teledyne and SMC. The MRU-B1 is available in an IP67-rated housing or a special rugged subsea enclosure rated to depths of 1000 metres.
