The Argos 1000 is a cutting-edge forward looking sonar system that is designed to overcome the limitations faced by traditional 2D technologies and provide marine vessels with a powerful navigation and situational awareness capability that generates real-time true 3D images of the waters ahead.
Intended for larger vessels ranging from 40 metres in size and up, Argos 1000 can detect objects and hazards in the water column at ranges of up to 1000 metres, and can operate reliably at speeds of up to 25 knots. The system can be integrated with a wide variety of vessels using a fixed installation, or via a hoist or pole mount installation. The unit features a rugged stainless steel housing that protects the internal electronics from harsh conditions, as well as tough-marine-grade urethane for the transmit and receive arrays.
A specialized hoist system for the Argos 1000 is available that has been specifically designed for applications such as icebreaker vessels, featuring a retractable protective steel pod with integrated cover-plate.
