Environmental Monitoring & Weather Stations

Airmar’s rugged ultrasonic WeatherStation® instruments are unique multisensor instruments that report dynamic true and apparent wind speed and direction, with no moving parts. Designed for both mobile and stationary platforms, these ultra-reliable, maintenance free multisensors provide crews and operators with dynamic and high-accuracy hyper-local data, enabling enhanced decision-making.

WeatherStation instruments can also deliver air temperature and wind chill, barometric pressure, relative humidity, rate-of-turn and pitch and roll data from three-axis gyros and accelerometers, position from GPS, and solid-state compasses.

The 200WX-IPX7 is ideal for providing both stationary and mobile marine platforms, such as buoys and USVs (uncrewed surface vessels), with real-time, site-specific data. Featuring IPX7 ingress protection, it ensures highly reliable operation even under harsh and highly dynamic sea conditions.

WeatherStation 200WX

Dynamic weather monitoring instrument for mobile and stationary applications

The 200WX is an ideal choice for providing real-time accurate Dynamic true wind and weather data for highly dynamic and mobile applications, including commercial ships, scientific and survey platforms, and military vessels. With a compact footprint, it is rated IPX6 rated for water ingress protection.

Hydrographical Solutions

Smart Acoustic Sensors & Altimeters

Our EchoRange+ Smart Sensors utilize sophisticated embedded microelectronics and digital signal processing to provide ultrasonic measurements of water temperature and depth. The sensors can deliver this data via RS-422 serial in real time to any NMEA-compatible device, and also feature an OEM-exclusive secondary transmit-only RS-485 interface that can obtain detailed echo envelope data for seafloor characterization. With user-configurable depth range and ping rate resolution, EchoRange+ sensors are ideal for marine applications such as inspection and hydrographic survey.

Airmar also offers miniature altimeter kits that are specially designed for integration into underwater robotic platforms such as AUVs and ROVs. Consisting of a compact transceiver board and a separate 1000 metre pressure-rated underwater transducer, these low-SWaP subsea altimeters can be programmed to operate in manual or fully automatic sounding modes.
