FMV has signed a contract valued at SEK 43 million including options with BUVI Scandinavia AB to deliver Evologic’s Sonobot 5 Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) to the Swedish Armed Forces.

The systems will be primarily used by the army’s engineering corps to investigate waterways before floating bridge systems are established. The contract covers the complete system, including necessary support services and training. This procurement was carried out by FMV’s Army Materiel business area in close collaboration with representatives from the Navy Materiel business area.

Gabriel Dalborg, Systems Engineer at FMV, “With this system, detailed 3D images of the seabed can be created in a short time. This will lead to more efficient and faster decision-making and improved fieldwork capabilities within the Armed Forces.”

The unmanned vehicles will be delivered in the fall of 2026, after which they will undergo testing and evaluation in both coastal and inland environments. The agreement also enables further orders for Evologics’ unmanned vehicles. Moving forward, BUVI Scandinavia, Evologics, and FMV will work together to adapt and integrate the system to specific Swedish operational needs.
