Supplier List Expansion Marks Step Forward in Sustainable Maritime Autonomy

Cooperation in Advancing Maritime Autonomy

The cooperation between Autonomous Maritime Solutions and Marine AI brings together complementary expertise in maritime operations and autonomous technology. The partnership aims to enhance the development of efficient, safe, and sustainable solutions for the maritime sector.

This partnership is driven by a shared goal of progressing marine autonomy, with an emphasis on developing solutions that improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Clients can anticipate a wide range of services that capitalise on the strengths of both companies, from initial consultation and design to implementation and support.

Marine AI’s Advanced Technology

Marine AI is a software company based in Turnchapel Wharf, Plymouth. Their generation 2 Guardian AITM software stack was developed as part of large scale fully uncrewed autonomous UK and US defence projects and represents a significant advancement in commercially available marine technology. Utilising artificial intelligence, Guardian is thought to be the first product that can fully deliver IMO Level 4+ autonomy.

Furthermore, by easily integrating with existing Radar, AIS and Camera sensors, it can be retrofitted to any crewed commercial vessel to provide improved situational awareness, dynamic real-time safe route planning and decision-making support to the bridge team, with or without connection to a ship’s autopilot system.

General Manager, Thomas Rooney, commented, “I am very pleased that Autonomous Maritime Solutions has asked Marine AI to join their list of suppliers. As a company that prides itself on working collaboratively, this feels like a natural fit and we look forward to working with them to support their customers.”

The Future of Marine Autonomy

The collaboration is expected to support continued innovation in marine autonomy. With Marine AI’s technology and Autonomous Maritime Solutions’ operational knowledge, the partnership is well-positioned to contribute to the development of more adaptive and intelligent maritime systems.

Marine AI’s inclusion on the Recommended Suppliers list reflects the increasing integration of autonomous technology into mainstream maritime operations. The collaboration brings together technical and operational capabilities to help shape the evolving landscape of the maritime industry.
