Production Commences for Upgraded Autonomous Surface Vessel

Maritime technology developer SubSea Craft has transitioned its upgraded MARS Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) into the production phase following a period of advanced testing and operator collaboration.

The latest evolution of the maritime platform is designed for international deployment, incorporating specialized ventilation systems on both the craft propulsion systems and the modular payload bay to support operations in diverse climates, including the Middle East. The system retains several core technologies from the initial MARS variant, such as the digital control system that is also utilized by VICTA, the company’s optionally manned, dual domain craft.

Developed and resourced entirely within the UK, the upgraded USV is currently undergoing advanced testing and will be delivered to fulfill an existing customer contract. The platform’s development adheres to the core principles of prototype warfare, which emphasizes building innovative technologies at pace, testing them in operationally relevant conditions, and refining the systems based on real-world operational experience.
