OMS Group has finalized a two-week intensive training programme for its dedicated USV Elite operations team at a manufacturing facility in La Ciotat, France.

The specialized training followed the successful completion of Sea Acceptance Tests (SAT). This programme equips uncrewed surface vessel pilots, remote surveyors, and field support technicians with the operational and technical expertise required to safely deploy and operate the vessel in accordance with international standards.

Instruction covered advanced piloting and mission management, connectivity resilience, engineering fundamentals, survey data acquisition workflows, and structured emergency response procedures. This curriculum was designed to ensure readiness across both operational execution and technical performance.

With operator training concluded, the vessel will continue its operational readiness programme ahead of commercial deployment. The integration of this asset supports the company’s expanding portfolio of autonomous offshore survey services as autonomous technologies see growing adoption across the global subsea telecommunications industry.
