Kongsberg Maritime has been awarded a substantial contract by a major energy operator to supply a fully integrated mooring and deck machinery package for a new Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel in Asia.

Scheduled for delivery in mid-2027, the scope includes chain pull-in winches, chain stoppers, fairleads, riser pull-in winches, and associated control and automation systems. A key technical requirement of the project is the large mooring chain dimension, reflecting demanding offshore operating conditions that necessitate high-capacity, heavy-duty deck machinery.

The award represents a repeat order following an earlier contract for a separate FPSO development, further solidifying the established relationship between the operator and Kongsberg Maritime.

“We are pleased to continue our cooperation with this customer on another FPSO development,” said Marte Tyldum SVP Kongsberg Maritime Handling. “This project demonstrates our ability to deliver robust deck machinery solutions for complex offshore applications, combining strong engineering competence with reliable automation and control systems.”

Project execution will involve a division of engineering responsibilities between Kongsberg Maritime and mechanical design specialist IP Huse. Mechanical components will be manufactured at IP Huse’s facilities on Harøy, Norway, while Kongsberg Maritime will deliver the automation and control systems alongside overall project management.
