Crewless Marine, a developer of advanced underwater acoustic sensors, signal processing, and autonomy solutions for uncrewed maritime vehicles, has been acquired by Vatn Systems to advance the development of integrated undersea technologies at a greater scale.
The company was originally founded to push the boundaries of underwater acoustic sensing and signal processing. By joining the Vatn Systems team, Crewless Marine will focus on building high-performance undersea systems that combine sensing, autonomy, and systems engineering.
Acoustic sensing is considered a foundational technology for undersea platforms. This acquisition allows for the expansion of advanced sensing and signal processing beyond Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), applying system-level integration across the broader undersea domain.
Co-founders Steven Bordonaro, PhD, and Philip Caspers, PhD, will remain with the organization. In this next chapter, they will continue their work at Vatn to support the development of advanced undersea technologies.
