Applied Acoustics, a developer of subsea and marine navigation, position and survey solutions, discusses how it assisted OCEAN SCAN in enhancing subsea operations, integrating USBL systems into ROVs and sonar equipment. Read more >>
Positional accuracy is essential to OCEAN SCAN’s work in identifying shipwrecks, debris, pipelines and underwater hazards, which Applied Acoustics’ enhanced with its underwater positioning capabilities.
Applied Acoustics integrated multiple USBL systems into OCEAN SCAN’s Falcon DR-1000 ROVs, enabling high-depth marine infrastructure inspections across various industries. The company also implemented Easytrak Nexus 2 systems into OCEAN SCAN’s Klein Marine 5000 v2 sidescan sonar, improving the accuracy of seabed surveys.
These upgrades significantly improved OCEAN SCAN’s subsea operations, with Easytrak Nexus 2 systems reducing inspection times and increasing the accuracy of data delivered to clients.
OCEAN SCAN can now detect underwater targets with greater precision after implementing upgrades to its GNSS system and utilizing ATLAS (Hemisphere) satellite correction signals. This also means the company’s USBL system functions at full capacity.
Applied Acoustics’ developments enable OCEAN SCAN to verify the accuracy of inspections on submarine outfalls and pipelines.
Following surveys conducted with MBES and SSS technologies, ROV inspections are performed with the Easytrak system, utilizing basemap tools and CAD/GIS files to precisely follow the routes of underwater works and collect accurate positioning data.
