Teledyne Marine's Pathfinder DVL is a 600 kHz Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) engineered to deliver precise subsea navigation in a compact, cost-efficient package. Built on Teledyne RDI’s established acoustic sensing architecture, it uses a phased array transducer to improve positional accuracy while minimizing size, removing the need for sound velocity correction, and reducing exposure to biofouling.
The system supports both self-contained and remote-head configurations, enabling flexible integration across a wide range of subsea platforms. With bottom-tracking capability to 80 meters and operation in water depths up to 300 meters, it provides dependable velocity data for consistent navigation performance.
Designed for modern marine systems, Pathfinder features Ethernet connectivity with simultaneous TCP and UDP data output, dynamic command updates during operation, and low-latency triggering to limit acoustic interference. Advanced data outputs, including high-resolution velocity parameters and time-of-validity signals, support tight coupling with inertial navigation systems for improved positioning accuracy. Optional extended range tracking enhances bottom-lock capability, while upgrade paths allow the addition of current profiling functionality. Integrated health monitoring and leak detection contribute to operational reliability across AUVs, inspection-class ROVs, surface vessels, and diver navigation and mapping systems.
